The most common methods by which Legionella is contracted is through inhalation or aspiring contaminated water droplets, mists or vapors into the lungs.

Any industry or place of business that uses a huge water supply can be at risk for Legionella contamination.

Regular testing of the water supply for harmful bacterial agents is highly recommended as a preventative measure. Proper disinfectant practices are another effective method to prevent the bacteria from developing.

With the rising number of confirmed Legionnaires’ cases being reported , it would behoove businesses to take heed to the warnings and go ahead and wisely invest in an effective monitoring or treatment program for its water supply.
